Wash n soak urad da, methil and soak idli ravva. I added less water to idli ravva.

Soak urad dal for 8 to 10hrs. Then grind it to thick batter. Add salt to mixi so you can grind easily.

Add grinded batter to the rava and mix well. Let it ferment overnight or at least 8 to 10hrs. In summer you vl get less time for fermenting.

Mix well batter should b fluffy. Apply oil to Idli plates.

Put ladle of batter to the plate. Steam for 10 to 15min. Let it cool for 10mn n then take out n serve with sambar n chutney..
