Ingredients

  • 500 grminced beef (90% lean)
  • 1 tbspolive oil
  • 1/2yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbspground cumin
  • 2 Tbspchili powder or according to taste
  • 2 Tbspcanned tomato paste
  • 1 tbspgarlic powder
  • 1/2 Tbspsalt
  • 1/2 tspground black pepper
  • 1 Tbspgranulated sugar
  • 180 mlbeef broth
  • 1 can (425 g)/ 15 oz) canned diced tomatoes (small cubes)
  • 1 can (225 g)/ 8 oz) canned tomato sauce
  • 1 can (450 g)/ 16 oz) canned kidney beans
  • Toppings:
  • grated cheese (Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Asadero, Quesa Quesadilla)
  • sour cream
  • green onions, thinly sliced

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the olive oil. Sauté the onion until fragrant.

  2. 2

    Add the minced meat. Cook until it changes color (6-7 minutes).

  3. 3

    Season with cumin, chili powder, tomato paste, garlic powder, salt, ground black pepper, and sugar. Stir well.

  4. 4

    Add beef broth, canned diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and red beans. Cook until boiling.

  5. 5

    Turn down the heat. Continue to cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust to taste.

  6. 6

    Remove from the heat. Place it in a serving bowl. Top with grated cheese, sour cream, and sliced ​​green onions. Yum😋
