Masala grilled watermelon
A restaurant dish inspired recipe modified with my own tweaks. My hubby had tried it and convinced me to recreate it at home. So here it is!
Steps
- 1
Cut the watermelon horizontally into a circle 3/4 inch thick and divide it into 4 quarters.
- 2
Smear the watermelon with olive oil and lemon juice and a bit of salt.
- 3
Heat a grill plate on the gas stove and put the watermelon quarter on it. Let it cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes and then flip it on the other side. Cook on that side too for 2-3 minutes. You should be able to see the grill marks on the watermelon.
- 4
Remove from the grill and sprinkle chaat masala, pepper and red chilli powder. Grill once again for half a minute on both sides.
- 5
Remove onto a plate and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
