A non-dairy white sauce. This is also good for those following a macrobiotic diet.

Adjust the thickness of the sauce with the flour. If you use too much coconut milk than the amount listed, it may not taste good. You could omit the coconut milk and just use soy milk. According to the macrobiotic diet, you should be careful not to consume too much soy or coconut milk, as they cool your body down. Recipe by bastet

Ingredients

1 serving
  1. 200 mlSoy milk
  2. 100 mlCoconut milk
  3. 1 smallOnion
  4. 2 tbspFlour (preferably whole wheat)
  5. 1Vegetable bouillon cube
  6. 1Salt and pepper

Steps

  1. 1

    Fry the thinly cut onions in a little vegetable oil.

  2. 2

    Add the flour and bouillon, and continue to fry, taking care not to let it scorch.

  3. 3

    When the flour has been fried, add the soy and coconut milk, and mix on a low heat until the mixture thickens.

    Season with salt and pepper.
