Soak Chana overnight in water. Drain out the water the next morning. Put it in a pressure cooker. Add salt to taste and a pinch of turmeric powder. Cook for 20 minutes.

Chop tomato and ginger. Put it in the pan. Drizzle drops of mustard oil on them. Fry them for 2-3 minutes. Let it cool. Make paste.

Pour oil into a pan. Put the paste of tomato and ginger first. Fry them for few minutes. Add pressure cooked Chana next.

Make a paste of curd, turmeric powder, and black pepper powder. Put the paste in the pan. Coat well with the Chana.

Make a paste of Chana masala powder and water. Put its pan. Coat Chana with the masala. Cook in low flame till the raw smell of masala goes away. As masala gets cooked, add water.

Lower the flame and cook till water absorbs the flavor.

Mix everything and put off the flame.
