Roasted Soy Beans with Soy Sauce

I thought up this snack as a way to encourage my kids to chew their food thoroughly. This dish is also great as an appetizer with drinks.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Roast the soy beans in a frying pan until golden brown (it'll become aromatic and the skins will crack in about 4-5 minutes).
- 2
Turn off the heat and let rest for a little while. Then, swirl the soy sauce and shake the pan so that the beans are dried in the residual heat. Once they have fully absorbed the soy sauce, they're done.
- 3
When I poured on a roughly equal amount of soy sauce and mentsuyu sauce, it formed a crispy layer on the surfaces and was delicious (it sticks to the beans while hot, but becomes crispy and flaky once cooled).

Sweet Potatoes with Butter Soy Sauce Sweet Potatoes with Butter Soy Sauce
New potatoes have a light flavor, so I thought they might go well with butter and soy sauce and I created this recipe. My potato loving daughter loves these.Be sure to dry out the boiled potatoes in the pan until they're covered with a fine coating of potato flour before adding the butter and soy sauce. By evaporating any excess water, the flavors will blend better. The skins of new potatoes are delicious too, so wash them well and eat them whole. This recipe is delicious with regular potatoes too! Garlic Soy Sauce Garlic Soy Sauce
As you only have the aroma instead of eating the actual garlic, the smell doesn't linger as long and you don't have garlicky breath afterward.I wrote "100 ml or more" for the amount of soy sauce, because you first use enough soy sauce to just cover the garlic cloves. Afterward, you can add as much soy sauce as you like. The aroma is best if you use it up within one week. The garlic changes colour, so take them out after about 3 days. Oven Roasted Green Beans with Garlic Oyster Sauce Oven Roasted Green Beans with Garlic Oyster Sauce
I'm not all that preachy about how to cook or eat, but I am all about the gospel of incorporating more fresh produce into our diets. I'm a firm believer that if people just had more delicious experiences with vegetables, they'd love them like I do.Green beans (aka String Beans, Snap Beans) are super high in fiber and Vitamins A and C, among other nutrients, and this is a delicious and fun Asian-inspired finger food recipe for them that easily gets peeps eating half a pound each. It could also be a great alternative to your usual Thanksgiving green beans recipe.By the way, if you don't already have oyster sauce in your pantry, you'll find it a great one-stop seasoning for stir frys, Asian inspired pan fried noodles, and fried rice, among other things. It does have oysters in it, but it doesn't really taste that much like oysters - think of it like a thicker, earthier, slightly smokier condiment than soy sauce that you can use much in the same way for cooked preparations. x
