Ingredients

  • Chocolate Crust
  • 1 cupcrushed chocolate graham crackers
  • 5 tablespoonsbutter melted
  • Fudge Cake Layer
  • 8 ouncessemi sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cupsalted butter
  • 1 cupsugar
  • 3/4 cupunsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoonsflour
  • 1 teaspoonexpresso powder
  • 4large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoonsvanilla extract
  • Chocolate Streusel
  • 1/2 cupbrown sugar
  • 1/4 cupFlour
  • 1/4 cupunsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cupsalted butter cold
  • 2chocolate graham crackers broken into small pieces
  • Ganache
  • 3 ouncessemi sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 ouncesheavy cream

Steps

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees farenheit

  2. 2

    Mix the graham crackers and melted butter in a small bowl. Press into a 9 inch regular pie plate. Bake for 7 minutes.

    Make the fudge cake layer; Place chocolate chips and butter in a mixing bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between until melted and smooth. Takes 2-3 minutes.

    To the melted chocolate mixture add the sugar, cocoa powder, expresso powder, flour, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat together until just combined. Pour this over the chocolate graham cracker crust.

    In medium bowl prepare the streusel topping. Mix together brown sugar, flour, and cocoa powder. Cut the butter into the mixture with a pastry blender until it resembles small pebbles. Add the chopped graham crackers and mix to combine. Sprinkle the mixture over the fudge cake layer

  6. 6

    Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. The pie will be soft to touch. The fudge layer will be pudding consistency. Don’t overbake. If you let cool completely it firms up. If you eat it warm it is like a lava cake.

    While pie is baking make the ganache. Place chocolate chips in bowl. Heat heavy cream in microwave til simmering. 30-45 seconds. Pour hot cream over chocolate chips. Let stand undisturbed for 2 minutes. Stir til smooth.

  8. 8

    Drizzle ganache over baked pie. Let cool 20 minutes before serving or cool completely for a firmer pie.
