Stir Fried Spicy Miso Konnyaku

I had a huge block of konnyaku left over! I love cumin, so I made this recipe referring to the ginger spice stir fry for avocado.

Be careful, cumin is easily burnt.
I used a big block of konnyaku. If you use a normal size, it might be fine to halve the seasoning ingredients.
I use normal blended miso, not white or red. Recipe by John Lee Cooker

Ingredients

  1. 450 gramsKonnyaku block
  2. 1 tbspOlive oil
  3. 1 tspCumin seeds
  4. 1/2or 1 Minced ginger
  5. 1/2 tsp● Coriander seed powder
  6. 1/2 tspGaram masala
  7. 1 tsp● Sugar (I used brown sugar)
  8. 1 tbsp● Miso
  9. 2 tbspWater
  10. 1/2to 1 teaspoon Fish sauce or soy sauce

Cooking Instructions

    Pierce the konnyaku with a fork to make it easier to absorb flavor. Cut to about 1 cm thick. Soak in hot water to remove the harshness.

    Heat a frying pan with olive oil and cumin seeds. Turn down to low, try not to burn them.

  3. 3

    When the cumin seeds start crackling, add the ginger. When it is aromatic, add ● and dissolve the miso.

  4. 4

    When the miso has dissolved, add the konnyaku. Cook on medium heat until the liquid is nearly gone.

    Finally pour in the nam pla fish sauce to season. Then it's done!
