Steps
- 1
Slice the bacon up. Dice the onion. Brown the pork. Add bacon and onion allow bacon to render a bit. Cook till onions are translucent add spices. Add and stir in the rest stew ingredients.
- 2
Mix and let simmer 20 minutes. I was cooking at the grandkids place. I cooked in 2- 8x8 pans. Preheat oven 425° Fahrenheit. Divide stew in pans covering bottom. If you use a bigger pan cover bottom with all the stew.
- 3
Take and melt the butter. Add milk and water. Heat till hot but not boiling. Add potato flakes. Cook till liquids are absorbed. Add potatoes to top of stew mixture. Use a fork to spread out. Cover all the stew.
- 4
Add cheese if you choose the option. Grandkids love the cheese on top. Bake 15-20 min.
- 5
Let rest 12 serve I hope you enjoy!!!
