To make the jalebi batter, add 1 cup all-purpose flour to a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons plain yogurt and enough water to make a smooth batter. Mix well. Cover and let it ferment in a warm place for 5 to 6 hours.

After the batter has fermented, mix it well again. To make the syrup, combine 1 cup sugar with 1/3 cup water in a pan. Add cardamom powder and a little saffron food coloring. Cook until you get a one-string consistency syrup.

Transfer the jalebi batter to a piping bag or squeeze bottle. Pipe the batter in round shapes into medium-hot oil.

Fry the jalebis until they are crispy, then immediately transfer them to the hot syrup.

After soaking in the syrup, remove the jalebis and serve.
