Toor Dal Fry/Split Pigeon Pea Dal Fry

Wash the Dal and clean many times in a pressure cooker. Add salt and turmeric. Cook for two whistles. Allow to cool down the cooker.

Heat oil in kadhai, add and and allow to splutter ponch phutan. Add curry leaves and saute till aromatic.

Now add garlic and onion and hing, saute till onions are translucent.

Then add tomatoes, green chillies, red kashmiri chilli powder, ginger powder and ghee. Saute till tomatoes are softened.

Mix the boiled dal and allow to boil. Now the Toor dal fry is ready to serve. Garnish with green coriander. I served with brown zeera rice.
