Ingredients

  1. 2 1/4 poundsrice (about 1 kilogram)
  2. 2 1/4 poundspeas (about 1 kilogram)

  4. 3-4green chilies, finely chopped

  6. 3-4green cardamom pods
  7. 2black cardamom pods
  8. 1-inch piece of cinnamon stick
  9. 1 teaspooncumin seeds
  10. 1 teaspoonblack cumin seeds
  11. 1star anise
  12. 1 teaspoonblack pepper
  13. 7-8cloves
  14. 200 gramsrefined oil
  15. Salt to taste
  16. 2 teaspoonsginger paste
  17. 2 teaspoonsgarlic paste

    First, add refined oil to a pan, then brown the bay leaves, green chilies, and onions well. Add the ginger and garlic paste and peas, and sauté well.

    In a pot, bring water to a boil with salt, green chilies, bay leaves, and black cardamom.

    Once the rice has boiled a couple of times, check by pressing it between your fingers. Grind all the spices in a mixer, add to the peas, mix well, and remove from heat. Once the rice is ready, layer it with the prepared spiced peas.
