Bengali Bhoger Khichuri is Moong Dal Khichdi made using roasted moong dal, rice, veggies, spices, and ghee. Without khichuri, Bengali people can not imagine any puja bhog and here Saraswati puja is not an exception. It is often served with various niramish side dish .

Bengali Bhoger Khichuri is Moong Dal Khichdi made using roasted moong dal, rice, veggies, spices, and ghee. Without khichuri, Bengali people can not imagine any puja bhog and here Saraswati puja is not an exception. It is often served with various niramish side dish .

Add moong dal and roast it over medium-low flames for 2 minutes.
Remove the roasted dal and add rice to the same pot.Roast the rice for 2 minutes and transfer to the roasted dal bowl.Soak the roasted dal and rice mix in 2 cups water - 2
In a pot add 2 tbsp mustard oil and fry the potatoes and cauliflower and keep aside. In the same oil add the bay leaves, cumin seeds whole spices, ginger paste and tomatoes and fry till oil starts separating

Now add the roasted rice and daal and fry till complete mix. Add hot water just double the quantity and peas and simmer the flame. Keep stirring intermittently to avoid getting stuck at the bottom of pan

Add turmeric powder,salt and sugar to taste and continue simmering and finally add ghee and garam masala powder. Serve with aloo dum or bengali labra
