Simple potato wedges

This came from finally having a working oven after years of not being able to afford one. Potatoes are incredibly cheap and I wanted a good way to use a lot of them at once. Everything about this is flexible, use what is available and cheap for you

Ingredients

30 mins
2-3 people
  1. 2-3medium sized russet potatoes
  2. 1/4th cup oil of choice(I used vegetable oil)
  3. Cold water
  4. Salt
  5. Teaspoondehydrated onions
  6. Teaspooncheap pre grated parmesan or "cheese topping"
  7. Quarter teaspoon cayenne powder
  8. Teaspoonoriginal adobo
  9. Quarter teaspoon onion powder

Cooking Instructions

30 mins
  1. 1

(optionally wash, or even peel the potatoes) cut in half, then half again

  2. 2

Fill a container with cold water and as much salt as you can part with and let the potatoes soak while the oven preheats to 425 degrees Fahrenheit

  3. 3

In the meantime, mix oil with seasonings (including salt) and let sit

  4. 4

Drain the water from the potatoes and rinse with cold water 2-3 times, optionally, pat each potato dry

  5. 5

Toss potatoes with oil mixture and place on baking sheet. The more the potato touches the baking sheet, the more delicious Maillard browning you'll get so I place the potatoes flat on one of the sides without the skins. Place as evenly apart as you can reasonably manage

  6. 6

Bake for 30 ish minutes and let cool, dig in :)
