Chana Daal Pakore are very delicious and it's easier to prepare at home for family members and guests. In Odisha, we have a district called Jajpur. Here, different types of daal Pakore are prepared with spices and herbs, the taste is awesome and unique. It's known in Jajpur as 'Checiki'. First the pakore were deep fried for a minute, then pressed and fried again. These Pakore are very crispy and delicious. I would never forget these Daal Pakore.

  • 1.5 cupssoaked Chan daal without water
  • 3 clovesgarlic chopped
  • 1 inchginger chopped
  • 2green chillies, chopped
  • 1/4 cupChopped onions
  • 1 Tspcumin seeds
  • 1 Tspcrushed carom seeds
  • 1/4 cupchopped green chilli
  • 1/4 cupchopped green coriander leaves
  • 2 Tbsprice flour
  • As Per RequiredSalt
  • 1/3 tspturmeric powder
  • 1/3 tspred chilli powder
  • 1 Tspchaat masala powder
  • as required Oil for deep frying
  • 1 bowlfresh Murmu

    Grind soaked chana daal, ginger, garlic, and green chili with little water.

    Mix onion, coriander leaves, extra chopped green chili (to make hot), carom seeds and cumin seeds, chaat masala and rice flour, salt, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Make the thick batter. Rest for an hour.

    Heat the oil for deep frying. Make Pakore and fry on low to medium flame from all the sides.

    Serve with hot tea and Murmura. Murmura checks acidity, generated due to deep fry food.
