Spiced Buttermilk Recipe is a refreshing, cooling, healthy, yogurt-based summer drink that is perfect to cool you down during the summer months. It is similar to lassi but savory in flavor with a high proportion of water to yogurt like chaas or mattha. It is made with fresh thick yogurt, green chilli, ginger, mint and coriander leaves. It has probiotic benefits, hydrates and gives relief from fatigue and profuse sweating.

To a blender add mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilli, ginger and very little water and blend coarsely.

In a deep container, add yogurt and one cup of cold water and whisk for 2-3 minutes. Buttermilk is ready.

Add the blended paste to the buttermilk and mix it well.

To make it drinkable ie. Not too thick and not too thin, add one more cup of cold water and whisk it well.

Add black salt and roasted cumin powder and mix it.

Whisk again for a minute or two.

Spiced Buttermilk is ready. Pour into serving glass and enjoy this refreshing and cooling summer drink.
