This is chana dal(bengal gram split) spicy and sour chutney. Generally this chutney is made in Maharashtra in puranpoli thali as a side dish. For this chutney soaked chana dal gets grind with spices and cook after making tempering. Mokali dal means Dry dal. This is dry chana dal chutney.

Wash and soak chana dal for minimum 2hrs

Drain all water
- 3
Transfer in mixer jar

Add salt, curry leaves, green chillies and grind coarsely
- 5
Make tempering

Heat oil in a pan
- 7
Add mustard seeds, cumin, chopped green chillies, curry leaves

Once it starts crackling, add chana dal mixture

Saute for 2,3 min till it gets dry

Switch off flame

Add lemon juice and sprinkle chopped coriander leaves

Mokali dal is ready to serve
