Apple cinnamon French toast casseroles

Ingredients

  1. 4 cupscubed French toast
  2. 4large eggs
  3. 1/2 cupmilk
  4. 1/4 cupheavy cream
  5. 1/3 cupbrown sugar
  6. 2 tspvanilla extract
  7. 2 tspcinnamon
  8. 3 tbsbutter melted
  9. Pinchsalt
  10. Apple topping
  11. 3large apples peeled and diced
  12. 1/4 cupbrown sugar
  13. 1/2 tbscinnamon
  14. Cornstarch slurry (1/2 cup water/ 1 tbs cornstarch mixed throughly)
  15. 1 tbsbutter
  16. 1 tspvanilla extract
  17. Vanilla Glaze
  18. 1/4 cupcream cheese soften
  19. 1/2 cuppowdered sugar
  20. 2 tbsheavy cream
  21. 1 TBSmilk
  22. 1/4 tspvanilla extract

Cooking Instructions

    Combine eggs, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, milk, salt and heavy cream.

    Four over cubed French bread. Add melted butter in mix thoroughly. Mixture will be soft.

    Pour into a greased 9 x 13 baking dish. Spread out evenly and sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes

    While the casserole bakes combine apples and butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add brown sugar vanilla and cinnamon. Cook 7 to 8 minutes until apples have softened.

    Add cornstarch slurry and reduce heat to low. If mixture thickens too much add a little more water.

    To prepare glaze: beat the cream cheese. Add heavy cream milk and powdered sugar. Whip until smooth. Add vanilla extract.

    Once casserole has finished remove from oven and immediately topped with one cup of vanilla glaze. Served with apple topping and additional glaze if desired.
