Thepla is a very famous and popular Gujarati snack. It can be prepared either plain, with bottle gourd or with some green leafy vegetables. Here I have prepared thepla using fresh fenugreek /methi leaves. It tastes very good with tea or coffee. It can be packed in kids' lunch boxes with pickle or curd.

Steps

30 min
  1. 1

First of all wash methi leaves properly to remove all the dirt and then chop it finely.

  2. 2

Take wheat flour in a bowl and add oil to it. Now add ginger, garlic, chili paste, turmeric, sesame seeds, curd, salt, and methi leaves to it. Adding little water at a time makes a semi-soft dough. Knead it until smooth. Cover and keep it for 10 minutes. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Now take one portion of the dough and with the help of little oil or dry flour roll it into a medium thick thepla.

Heat a pan on medium heat and put a rolled thepla on it. Roast it until it is light pink from the bottom. Flip it and roast it until a few dark speks appear at the bottom. Now add some oil and roast properly from both sides. Prepare all the remaining theplas in the same way.
