Ingredients

  • 1 cupgreen gram
  • 2 cupscountry sugar
  • 1/2 cupcoconut grated
  • 1 pinchsalt
  • 1cardamom

Steps

15 minutes
  1. 1

    Soak green gram for 4 to 5 hrs and cook in open pot until well cooked. Drain the excess water and keep it aside.

  2. 2

    Heat a pan, add  cooked green gram, brown sugar. When it dissolves, add a pinch of salt, cardamom and grated coconut and mix it well till the mixture does not stick on to the pan. Green gram sweet sundal is ready to serve.

    Notes:

    ~ Soaking time varies from minimum 3 hours to overnight.

    ~ Wash the green gram well and look for any impurities. At times stones will be there.
