Dal Tadka with Yellow Rice
It's simplicity
Steps
- 1
Wash and soak the dal and rice separately for half an hour. Then it's ready to cook. Add salt and turmeric to both (just a pinch to rice) and cook till done.
- 2
For Dal: In a kadai heat oil and ghee, add jeera, hing, whole red chilli, curry leaves, tomato kasuri methi, black pepper powder, and some salt, cover and cook till the tomatoes are done.
- 3
On the other side whip the curd and besan and add chopped green chilli and ginger. Add it to the kadai, cook for a minute.
- 4
As it leaves the oil, pour it over the cooked dal. Let it simmer. For rice prepare a jeera tadka and pour it over. Mix well. Now it's ready to serve.
