Sweet rice is a special dish for Karwa Chauth. It is traditionally offered to Goddess Gauri and served with yogurt. Married women eat this to break their fast.

Rinse the rice and place it in a pot. Add 3 cups of water (about 710 ml), then turn on the heat. Adjust the flame as needed.

When the rice starts to boil, break the jaggery into pieces and add it to the pot. Open the cardamom pods and add them as well.

Cover and cook on low heat until the rice is fully cooked. Turn off the heat. The rice should be a little moist.

Spoon the rice into a bowl and serve.
