My Great Aunt used to make cookies for all of her “kids”. Since she passed away 20+ years ago, I’ve taken up her tradition of making cookies for everyone between Thanksgiving & Christmas.

Preheat oven 350*. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Sift all dry ingredients together, set aside.

Beat butter til fluffy; add sugars beat well. Stir in molasses & egg whites. Add dry ingredients 1/3 at a time.

Pour extra white sugar in shallow bowl. Shape cookie dough into 3/4” balls, place on prepped cookie sheet 1 inch apart.

Bake 8-10 minutes. Cool 2 minutes, cookies will break & crumble, transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Store in airtight container.
