Once dry you can paint these fun for kids. These are better than salt dough.
Cooking Instructions

Continuously Mix corn starch, baking soda, water in a pot over med heat. Till thickness and resembles soft mashed potatoes. Remove from heat spoon in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap set aside to cool.

When it's cool knead and roll out on a corn starch surface if dough is sticky add a sprinkle of cornstarch, cut with cookie cutters place on waxed or a silicone mat.

Cover with plastic to prevent cracking.

Air dry for a day or two
- 5
Paint when dry.

I added the color and glitter options though. Lol. This is soooo smooth and soft, easy to work with, and not grainy like salt dough always seems to be. I do always get some cracking, but I feel the end result is just better than salt dough overall. I love it.

These decorations are an every year traditio,n but this year, 2008, I added a mini version of the train fromand simply made this tree. I also added the ornaments. This recipe also made an appearance in the December 16 & 25, 2008 editions of "Gohan Nikki" (Food Journal)Since the dough needs to be frozen, prepare it and cut out the shapes beforehand. Doing it the day before is also okay.
