Ingredients

  1. 1 lb (454 g)Daikon (White Radish) or Lo Bok
  2. 1 cup (120 g)Oat flour (Recipe # 16664357)
  3. 1/3 cup (30 g)Leek or Green onion -Sliced or Chopped
  4. 2 tsp (10 ml)Less salt Soy sauce
  5. 1 tspSesame seeds
  6. 1 tbsp (15 ml)Vegetable oil
  7. Recommended condiments
  8. 1-2 tspGyoza sauce (Recipe # 16668553)
  9. 1-2 tspSweet & Sour sauce (Recipe # 16668559)
  10. 1-2 tspJapanese Sweet & Sour Sauce (Recipe # 16703109)
  11. This recipe is intended to be compatible with the diet of individuals with diabetes, kidney and heart disease, but please consult your doctor, renal nurse, nutritionist or other medical professionals!

Cooking Instructions

Prep 15 min, Cook 15 min

    Put chopped Daikon into a food processor or blender and grate until smooth.

    Transfer the grated Daikon into a medium mixing bowl. Add Leek, Sesame seeds, Soy sauce, and Oat flour.

  3. 3

    Combine thoroughly. Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes to fully hydrate the oat flour, which makes for a better result.

    Heat a fry pan to Med-High temperature and add Vegetable oil, then pour in the mixture (in 4 pieces or your proffered sizes) from Step 4. Cook Daikon-mochi about 5 min or until the bottom becomes crusty.

    Flip the Daikon-mochi and cook another 5 min or until the bottom becomes crusty. Make sure the cake is cooked right through and no raw parts remain in the middle.

  6. 6

    Serve with Gyoza sauce or Sweet & Sour sauce on top, amount adjusted for your daily nutritional needs.
