Secret Baumkuchen Recipe - I Don't Want to Tell Anybody

I tried to make baumkuchen so many times, but I couldn't get the growth rings patterns. I know how to make baumkuchen, just pile up pancakes, but I don't like the shape. So, I decided to use a banana as a centre for the cake.
I had tried an aluminum stick before, but it was too difficult to remove from the cake later on. With this recipe, you don't need to worry. Its also economical as you can eat it all! The only thing missing is....chocolate!! It's great to coat with a final layer of chocolate.
You can make own batter such as pancake mix. I used my own easy waffle batter and re-arranged it a little. Please try adding heavy cream or more butter to make a rich baumkuchen. Enjoy your own taste.
Tip: The banana is not cooked. So as soon as you slice the cake, the banana will start changing colour to brown. So please slice it just before serving. For 1 banana baumkuchen. Recipe by sweetsweet

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Refer tofor making waffle batter: Steps 1 ~ 3. Mix the ingredients. It will be a runnier batter than waffle batter.

- 2
Peel the banana and cut into half. Insert bamboo skewers in the middle.
- 3
Dip the banana in the batter. Hold both ends using both hands and coat the batter around the banana. (I used one hand in this picture as I needed to take the picture.) Once coated, lift the banana and wait until the batter stops dripping.
- 4
Cook the banana in a frying pan over medium to low heat. Please adjust the heat and keep rolling until it becomes a nice and golden brown.
- 5
The,n dip the banana back into the batter to coat it again. Try thinly coating it so that there will be beautiful growth ring patterns when you slice the cake.
- 6
Here you can see a thick cake around the banana. I would love to make a round baumkuchen, but it always turned into a triangle shape. Keep layering cake around the banana until the batter is gone. Please be careful not to burn yourself!
- 7
Once you finish cooking around the banana, remove the wooden skewers from the middle and cook both ends, too. Isn't it cute that you can see a little bit of banana?
- 8
Wrap them with plastic wrap while still warm to keep them moist. Place the baumkuchen on the wrap and fold both ends, then wrap over the cake to help keep the shape. Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour. But, it is best to eat at room temperature as it will have a nice and fluffy texture.
- 9
Slice to your desired thickness! It's so very delicious with a soft banana inside. It's also easier than normal baumkuchen as you don't have to remove the centre from the cake!

Honey Baumkuchen Honey Baumkuchen
I thought up this recipe during a cooking session in home economics class. It was really moist and delicious!!If you are not using honey, add 2 to 3 drops of vanilla essence. The key is to cook the batter in very thin layers. If you make the layers thick, they won't cook through properly and tend to remain raw on the inside. If you spread the batter very thinly in the pan, the layers will cook through easily and the 'tree rings' will show through nicely. If the baumkuchen is cold, microwave it for 30 seconds. Easy Baumkuchen in a Frying-pan Easy Baumkuchen in a Frying-pan
I remembered a recipe I used to make a long time ago, and made this! This is an easy recipe to make with your kids.Cook over a medium heat and use a wet kitchen towel to cool down the frying pan occasionally!Cool the cake first and then cover in plastic wrap. It is best left for a day before being eaten, as it will become moist and develop flavour! When you flip the cake over, use the spatula to spread out the mixture and make the layers thinner. This will make the cake layers look even better when cut. (Recipe by pancake08) cookpad.japan -
Folding Method for Baumkuchen Folding Method for Baumkuchen
The baumkuchen that I received as a thank you gift at a wedding was so delicious and it made me want to try making my own.I am such a klutz and wasn't really confident that I could roll up the cake, then I decided to just try folding it in half! So, I tried folding the cake and I could make it so easily. While scooping the batter with a ladle, some flour may settle at the bottom of the bowl; mix it each time you scoop the batter. If the tamagoyaki-pan starts to stick, add some oil.It is easier to use chopsticks rather than a spatula to make this cake. My Secret Recipe for Pound Cake My Secret Recipe for Pound Cake
I wondered how it would turn out if I adapted the method to make cream puffs to make a pound cake, and I made this fluffy cake with a soft and chewy texture! You can hear the tiny air bubbles in the cake popping as you bite into it! Pick up your ears! When you heat the saucepan with the milk and oil, it boils up quite quickly, so keep an eye on it. If you boil it for too long, the milk will evaporate. When you wrap the cake with cling film, wrap it while it's hot if you can. The baking time varies depending on your oven, so adjust accordingly. My Secret Gateau au Chocolat My Secret Gateau au Chocolat
I wanted to make healthy sweets for my mother who loves chocolate. The taste comes from a friend who made a chocolate cake with nuts for me a long time ago. I was going to eat it a little at a time, but it was so delicious I ended up polishing it off all at once, haha. This really is a recipe I don't want to tell anyone else. This is a healthy snack with a modest sweetness without heavy cream.Don't boil the milk. I also recommend not using low-fat milk for the best rich taste. For the meringue add some sugar, whip into a fine foam, and then add sugar again…repeat this process. Once it forms peaks and it's firm enough not to fall out of the bowl if turned upside-down it's just right. If you mix in a scooping motion from the bottom of the bowl upwards this keeps the meringue intact. I recommend non-sweet, bitter cocoa. Recipe by pink.lemonade cookpad.japan -
I Want to Keep This a Secret! Matcha and White Chocolate Muffins I Want to Keep This a Secret! Matcha and White Chocolate Muffins
I use my favorite basic muffin recipe to make lots of variations! I prefer to use margarine instead of butter when making muffins since they come out lighter and fluffier. If you coat the chocolate and walnuts in a little of the dry ingredients as you mix them in, they won't sink to the bottom while baking. If you over bake the muffins, they'll become dry, so poke one with a bamboo skewer about 25 minutes in to check.I recommend using raw cane sugar. It's very fine and mixes easily with the margarine, and is also nutritious. For 6 muffins. Recipe by Marimo1016 cookpad.japan -

My Secret Molten Chocolate Cake My Secret Molten Chocolate Cake
I wanted a little something sweet, but nibbling on a chocolate bar just wasn't satisfying. So, I adapted a larger recipe into this easy version. I adjusted the ingredient amounts and through a lot of trial and error, I finally came up with this recipe. If you bake it too long, it will turn into regular chocolate cake, so be careful But it will still be good like that ) If you make it without sugar, the inside will turn out moist instead of melty, so follow the amount of sugar listed in the recipe.
