Chinese-Style Spicy Marinated Cucumbers

I wanted to eat pickled cucumbers that were not Japanese-style, so I made them spicy by adding ra-yu spicy chili sesame oil.

This is simple, so I don't have tips. But if you lett the flavours blend for a long time, go easy on the chili oil and the soy sauce etc...

Ingredients

  1. 1Cucumber
  2. 1 dashless than 2 tablespoons (A) Soy sauce
  3. 1 tbspA) Sesame oil
  4. 1 tsp(A) Ra-yu
  5. 1/3 tsp(A) Sugar
  6. 1 tspWhite sesame (if desired)
  7. 1Salt
  8. 1Red chili pepper

Cooking Instructions

    Bash up the cucumbers (with a rolling pin etc), and cut into chunks. Sprinkle lightly with salt.

    Place the (A) ingredients inside a tupperware container or a plastic bag, and place the cucumbers into the mixture (Mix together). After about 15 minutes, add red chili pepper to taste.

    Garnish with white sesame right before eating.
