Seviyan dessert cups

Seviyan Dessert Cups are a variation to the canapes, made in the form of a dessert. The base (cup) is made by roasted vermicelli into muffin moulds. These moulds or cups are then filled with filling of choice.
Eid-ul-Fitr is not complete without some sort of seviyan (vermicelli) like sweet seviyan, sheer khurma, seviyan custard, seviyan kheer etc. it is served for breakfast after coming from the Eid prayers, as dessert for guests, and as snack to be consumed in between meals.
Since all these forms of seviyan are the run of the mill Eid dessert, or Eid dessert cliché (is there any such thing?), I wanted to do something different. This time I decided to mould the seviyan into dessert cups. These Seviyan Dessert Cups is a delicious dessert made with layers of crispy crunchy vermicelli and filled with a rich filling—rabri, mousse, whipped cream, pastry cream, custard, kheer. I filled the cups with pista kheer.
It is fun dessert is such a treat that you can easily whip up in a matter of minutes and your family and guests will love it. These cute dessert cups are sure to woe everyone.
Wishing you all a very happy Eid Mubarak!

Steps
- 1
Heat the ghee in a wok or pan.
- 2
Break the seviyan and add to the wok. Roast for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 3
Add the milk and sugar and mix well. Cook till the liquid is dry.
- 4
Cover the work/pan and simmer on low flame for 2 minutes.
- 5
Remove and cool till cold enough to handle.
- 6
Line individual muffin moulds with saran wrap.
- 7
Add the seviyan into the cups and arrange in a way to form a cup. Use the back of a small glass to make the hole.
- 8
Place the muffin tray in the fridge for 1 hour or till the cups are stiff.
- 9
Remove the cups and place on platter.
- 10
Fill the cups with desired pastry cream, custard, or kheer. (I used pista kheer)
- 11
Decorate the cups with chopped pistachios and rose petals.
