Pink Marbled Bagels Made with Red Sweet Potatoes

I made B Cocoa Marbled Bagels (see Hints), which came out so well that I decided to experiment with the recipe.
Use as much red sweet potato powder as you want for a deeper colour.
I made these with and without anko, do as you prefer.
For detailed hints, see, Stylish B Cocoa Marbled Bagels.
The bagels will become tough if you use anko, so warm them up the next day in the microwave or toaster oven before eating. For 4 bagels. Recipe by Youtank

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Dissolve the red sweet potato powder in an equal amount of water.
- 2
Add the dough ingredients to the bread machine, and knead it together using the dough cycle. After about 20 minutes have passed, turn the machine off and remove the dough. Divide the dough in half.
- 3
Return 1/2 of the dough to the bread machine, along with the dissolved red sweet potato powder. Let the machine knead for about 5 minutes. (The picture shows three varieties of dough)
- 4
Divide each half of the dough into 4 pieces, and let all 8 pieces rest for about 20 minutes (The picture shows B Cocoa Marbled Bagel dough)
- 5
After the dough has rested, roll it out to a 25cm x 10cm oblong.
- 6
Stack the pink on top of the white dough and press together with the rolling pin. smear the top with the anko paste.
- 7
Wrap the dough around the paste and seal.
- 8
Form the resulting tube into a ring form and shape with your fingers.
- 9
Here I put the pink dough on the outside, and left out the anko paste.
- 10
When you have shaped the bagels, let them go through a second rising for 20 minutes.
- 11
While preheating the oven, bring some water and the honey to a boil.
- 12
Turn the pan to low heat and add in the bagels, cooking each side for 15 seconds.
- 13
Place the bagels on a paper towel to drain, and quickly place in a 200°C oven for about 15 mintues.
- 14
The glossy and airy bagels are finished.
- 15
You can see the marbling in the cross section. So pretty!

Elegant Chocolate Marbled Bagels Elegant Chocolate Marbled Bagels
I can never help myself once I cut into bread and see a marble pattern. Although I looked around, I couldn't find a recipe for marbled bagels, so I tried making one that had a flavor that I liked. It just so turned out that I was able to make an interesting one! There is also a red potato, matcha, and kabocha squash version. When you are letting the bread machine mix the chocolate dough, if it doesn't mix well, then knead it by hand till it looks nice. While you are doing that, be sure to cover the white dough with a tightly wrung out damp paper towel so that it doesn't dry out. Be careful not to trap air into it, when you form the dough into balls. Also be careful to tightly close the seam. Recipe by Youtank cookpad.japan -

Soft Bagels Soft Bagels
I like chewy bagels, but I like soft and dense ones as well. These bagels can be used in many ways and are easy to eat. They're also good for sandwiches.Cover the dough with a damp cloth from the first rising to the shaping stage (Since the rising time is not very long, it is technically called “floor time”). Cloth is not needed during the second rising. For a smooth finish, remove the trapped air out of the dough really well before shaping the dough. Recipe by Masacchi cookpad.japan -

I wanted to use all purpose flour to make bagels for sandwiches. I put this recipe together to use up some whole wheat flour and rye. It's also a reminder for me.I've adjusted the amount of water so that the dough is easy to knead. Hence, I don't think you'll have much trouble kneading it.You could either use fine or coarsely ground whole wheat and rye. Also adjust the time for rising to your preference.
