Seriously Good! Sweet-Salty Nagoya Style Chicken "Spare Ribs"

The whole family loves the chicken wings at Fuuraibo!

Before adding the seasonings at Step 4, wipe off excess oil in the pan with paper towels.
Brown the skin properly. The key is to add plenty of black pepper.
Use chicken wings, thighs, tenders, or whatever chicken part you like.
If you're using chicken drums or another part that is thicker and harder to cook through, cover the pan with a lid at Step 3 to let it steam. Recipe by yamita

Ingredients

  1. 500 gramsChicken wings (middle section)
  2. 4 tbsp●Soy sauce
  3. 2 tbsp●Mirin
  4. 2 tbsp●Light brown sugar (or white sugar)
  5. 1●Grated garlic
  6. 3 tbsp●Water
  7. 1Plain flour
  8. 1Pepper
  9. 1White sesame seeds
  10. 1Vegetable oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Put the chicken wings and flour into a plastic bag, and coat the wings evenly with the flour.

    Put the ● ingredients into a small bowl, and mix together.

  3. 3

    Heat oil in a pan and pan fry the chicken wings. Start over high heat, and when the chicken has started to brown, turn down the heat to medium-low. Brown patiently.

    Turn the wings over. When they're browned on all sides, add the combined ● ingredients, and simmer while stirring over high heat. Add plenty of black pepper.

    Transfer to a serving plate, scatter sesame seeds and they're done.

  6. 6

    If you prefer crispy wings, use less of the seasonings.
