Only Two Ingredients. Mama's Chocolate Mousse

cookpad.japan
cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp

This is a standard after meal dessert for a French family.
Don't bother with the details too much because this sweet is served at home.

If you don't want to make it too rich, use one chocolate bar and two eggs (size M). The mousse will be a bit runny.

You will not mess up if you as long as you make a nice stiff meringue. For 3 - 4 servings. Recipe by pogue

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 2Chocolate bars
  2. 2Egg
  3. 1 dash(Rum etc. if you like)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

No cake flour, milk or oil in this mousse, so you can digest easily even after the main meal. Use eggs that are fresh as possible if you can.

  2. 2

Separate egg yolk and white. Bring the egg yolks to room temperature. Melt chocolate over a bain-marie or in the microwave. Add egg yolks and mix well.

  3. 3

Add a pinch of salt into the egg white, and whip until stiff peaks form. Make a meringue that will not drop even if you turn the bowl upside-down.

  4. 4

Use a whisk and add 1/3 of the meringue into the melted chocolate and mix well. Use a rubber spatula and add the rest of the meringue and fold it in.

  5. 5

Chill down for a half day to harden. Scoop with a spoon and serve. Enjoy variations such as sprinkling nuts on top or pouring into a tart crust if you like.
