My Grandmother's green bean recipe

My Spanish grandmother always made green beans this way for my Mum, and I think I can see why! 😋
Please note: in the images I make double the sauce so if you have a little less than me, that's because I ended up having too much and had to store some of the sauce and I made a pasta with it the day after.

My Spanish grandmother always made green beans this way for my Mum, and I think I can see why! 😋

Heat your oil in a pan or wok and begin to sauté the onions and garlic until they look a little transparent.

Next, add the tomatoes, cut into quarters, into the pan and cover for 10 minutes.

Now, Add your sugar to balance out the acidity of the tomatoes and cover for another 20 minutes. Whilst that is simmering, boil your green beans in a separate pot or pan.

You should also boil your potatoes around this time.

Finally, drain the potatoes and green beans and blend your sauce and combine in a large pan (I used the pan I boiled the green beans in) and then serve on a plate as a side or main. Enjoy!
