Ingredients

prep. 10 minutes, cook 10 minutes, set 20 mins.
4 servings
  1. 1 cupsweet papaya puree
  2. 1 cupdesiccated coconut
  3. 1 cupmilk
  4. 1/2 cupsugar depends on the natural sweetness of papaya
  5. 2 tspghee
  6. 1/2 tspelaichi jaifal powder / cardamom - nutmeg powder
  7. 2 tspchopped dry fruits
  8. 2 tspdesiccated coconut to sprinkle on burfi
  9. 1 tspchopped dryfruits for garnishing

Steps

prep. 10 minutes, cook 10 minutes, set 20 mins.

    Take a ripe papaya. Cut in halves, remove seeds, and peel off skin. Cut into pieces. Blend in a jar, don't add water, and make a smooth puree.

    On a slow flame, heat a kadai, add papaya puree, and stir well for a couple of minutes. Add sugar, and mix well. Cook till sugar melts properly. Add milk, stir constantly.

    When turns thicken, add desiccated coconut, and combine well. At this point, add ghee. It will give shine to mixture. Add elaichi jaifal powder. Mix well.

    Now, Papaya Burfi mixture combined well, and ghee releases. Turn off gas. Add chopped dryfruits. Mix well. Set evenly in a greased and sprinkled coconut powder in the bottom of the tray. Sprinkle desiccated coconut powder and chopped dryfruits on it. Set for at least 30 minutes. Cut into square pieces. Serve and enjoy.
