Quail Egg Christmas Tree for Lunchboxes

I came up with this recipe when I was shelling a quail egg.
*It's easier to make this if you choose a quail egg with a pointy top. You can also cut 5 mm off the bottom.
*Please arrange with your favourite ingredients. Recipe by yamita

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Boil the quail egg, and remove the shell while it's still hot. Form a cone shape or a triangular pyramid by pressing with fingers or pressing onto a cutting board.
- 2
Dissolve food colouring in water, and soak the egg from Step 1 for about 30 minutes to colour.
- 3
Boil the wiener sausage, and cut into 1 cm lengths. Cut out the ham, cheese, and imitation crab sticks into small circles with a straw.
- 4
Insert a star shaped pick onto the egg, and secure the egg and wiener sausage with a pick. Decorate with ham, cheese, and imitation crab meat (you can use mayonnaise as glue).

I made this to give to my niece and two nephews for a Christmas gift, from our family. Ages are pre teen that’s there on an off, one elementary , and one toddler. This was sent to them on Christmas eve, ( i pre made the dry ingredients a head of time and right before heading out the refrigerator items was added, thats why its not pictured, and wrapped in a Christmas bow last minute)From my understanding they loved it and it was restocked the first night on Christmas eve , and they was sneaky and got into the next morning for breakfast lol 😂 iam happy we sent extra to restocked it. I was unsure of what the toddler would eat and can have so thats what the teddy grams was for and i added goldfish for him. This was meant to be shared by all 3 of them . And the Takis were for the older kids . I did use 2 kinda of cheese . The parents are enjoying the container and are still using from my understanding they use it for lunch meat,. fruit , cheese . They always have at lot of kids over for playdates iam sure this comes in handy. My teens enjoyed picking out stuff for their cousins for this Christmas style homemade Lunchable. snackle time -

I made a new version of last year's quail eggs that got rave reviews.Quail eggs tend to absorb color better if they're warm, so I recommend immersing them in hot water first. They absorb the color faster with Decofuri (decorative furikake rice sprinkles).I think they taste better marinated in Colorful brand furikake.
