Chinese-Style Spicy Teriyaki Chicken (Great with Rice)

This spicy Chinese-inspired teriyaki chicken is tender, juicy, and goes perfectly with rice. It’s also delicious in a lunchbox or as a teriyaki rice bowl with scrambled eggs added.

Chinese-Style Spicy Teriyaki Chicken (Great with Rice)
This spicy Chinese-inspired teriyaki chicken is tender, juicy, and goes perfectly with rice. It’s also delicious in a lunchbox or as a teriyaki rice bowl with scrambled eggs added.

Steps

Trim excess fat from the chicken and slice it diagonally into bite-sized pieces. Finely chop the green onion. Grate the ginger.

Place the chicken, salt and pepper, and potato starch in a plastic bag. Gently massage to coat the chicken evenly.

In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, sugar, chili bean paste, and grated ginger to make the sauce mixture.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the vegetable oil. Once hot, add the chicken from step 2 and sear both sides until browned.

Once both sides are browned, add the green onion and the sauce mixture. Stir well to coat everything evenly, then remove from heat.

Transfer to a plate and serve.
