Steps
- 1
First, season the cooked rice with a little salt, then shape it into a ball to fit your cup or bento box.
- 2
Next, make two small round rice balls for the ears.
- 3
Cut the nori into pieces large enough to wrap around the rice balls, making small cuts as needed to help wrap them. Wrap the rice balls with nori, then cover with plastic wrap and let them sit for a while to set.
- 4
Wrap the ears with nori in the same way.
- 5
Next, peel off the red part from the imitation crab stick.
- 6
Spread a small amount of mayonnaise on the lower half of the main rice ball, then attach the red crab stick piece. Wrap with plastic wrap and let it set.
- 7
Use an oval-shaped cutter to cut out shapes from the sliced cheese. If you don't have a cutter, flatten a wide straw (like a bubble tea straw) to make an oval shape and use it to cut the cheese.
- 8
Attach the oval cheese pieces onto the crab stick section.
- 9
Finally, place the ears on top of the head to complete your onigiri! If you want to secure them, you can use a piece of fried pasta to hold them in place.
