Vegetable Broken Wheat khichdi

We usually make khichdi from rice and lentils but Vegetable Broken Wheat khichdi made using broken wheat and different vegetable is equally delicious and nutritious. The taste of this khichdi can be increased by adding different types of vegetables. Also adding green vegetables like green onion, green garlic etc. makes this khichdi very enjoyable to eat.

We usually make khichdi from rice and lentils but Vegetable Broken Wheat khichdi made using broken wheat and different vegetable is equally delicious and nutritious. The taste of this khichdi can be increased by adding different types of vegetables. Also adding green vegetables like green onion, green garlic etc. makes this khichdi very enjoyable to eat.

First of all, all three types of lentils are added to the broken wheat, washed with water and soaked in clean water for two hours.

Heat oil in a pan and add mustardseeds, cumin seeds, bay leaves, dried red chillies and neem.

Then add green chilli pieces, green onion, green garlic and saute. Now add chopped carrot pieces to it.

Add green peas and ginger-chili paste.

Add soaked broken wheat and mix lentils to it and all the spices and add salt as per taste.

Mix everything properly and cook for two minutes adding water as needed and the cooker should blow four to five whistles.

So our vegetable broken wheat khichdi will be ready to serve.
