Why use store bought mashed potatoes when you can make your own with 3 basic ingredients? It's fast, easy and delicious !

Note: Milk should be added in intervals to avoid making runny mashed potatoes. Consider adding a little extra milk at the end since some of it will evaporate as the mash potatoes cool down.

Ingredients

20 minutes
3-4 servings
  1. 4Golden potatoes
  2. 1 stickbutter
  3. 1 1/4 cupmilk
  4. Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

20 minutes
  1. 1

Start by assembling ingredients and bringing a pot of salted water to boil.

  2. 2

Wash, peal and cut potatoes into chunks, about 1 inch.

  3. 3

Once water is boiling, add potatoes and cook until tender, about 25 minutes. You will know they are ready when a a fork easily goes through them-- its okay to over cook them as they will be mashed anyway.

  4. 4

Once they are ready, straign them through a colander and immediately transfer them back to the pot you were using (heat off)

  5. 5

Add a stick of butter and using a potato masher, mash them potatoes.

  6. 6

Add milk and continue to mash/mix. If you prefer creamier mash potatoes, add more milk in intervals until desired consistency.

  7. 7

Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and serve warm. Yummy!
