Ingredients

For 1 loaf
  1. 2 cupsbread flour (about 250g, Haruyokoi or similar)
  2. 1 tablespoonsugar (about 12g, light brown sugar preferred)
  3. 1/2 teaspoonsalt (about 3g, fine sea salt)
  4. 2 tablespoonsunsalted butter (about 30g, at room temperature)
  5. 2 teaspoonshoney (about 12g)
  6. 2 teaspoonssweetened condensed milk (about 12g)
  7. 3/4 cupmilk (about 175g)
  8. 3/4 teaspoonactive dry yeast (about 2.7g)

Steps

  1. 1

    Use butter that has been brought to room temperature. In winter, warm the milk slightly; in summer, use it cold.

  2. 2

    Add all the ingredients to your bread machine and select the basic bread course. Start the machine.

  3. 3

    When the bread is done, remove it from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool. Once it has cooled, store it in a plastic bag to keep it fresh.

    I tried making this with half whole wheat bread flour (from Okayama) and it was still fluffy!
