Steps
- 1
Prepare all the ingredients and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Toast the mixed nuts over medium-low heat for 2-3 minutes, then transfer them to the prepared baking sheet.
- 3
Add the maple syrup and salt to the pan and bring to a simmer, then return the nuts to the pan.
- 4
Turn off the heat and stir the nuts and maple syrup continuously.
The mixture will thicken, turn a milky color, and become caramel-like. - 5
When it becomes too heavy to stir, spread it flat on the baking sheet and let it cool slightly to finish!
- 6
Once cooled and hardened, it's ready to eat.
- 7
Store in a jar at room temperature.
- 8
✦ To clean the caramel stuck to the pan, add water and heat it up. You can use this for stews or other dishes without extra washing.
