Living in Florida we have many seasonal crops it's almost at the end of strawberry season. The farmers turn some of their fields into u - pick.

Ingredients

16 servings
  1. 2pie crust 9" deep dish
  2. 5 quartsstrawberries
  3. 2 cupssugar
  4. 16 ounceswhipped cream or cool whip
  5. 8 ounceswhipped cream or cool whip for topping
  6. 2 pinchessalt

Cooking Instructions

    Go to a strawberry field

  2. 2

    Find a strawberry on the bush. My oldest granddaughter picking her first strawberry.

    Pick the berries

  4. 4

    Take them home wash them and remove the stems

  5. 5

    Preheat oven 400 degrees Fahrenheit

  6. 6

    Add to a pot and heat them letting them simmer.

  7. 7

    Add sugar and simmer covered till berries are just a bit firm but cooked. Add salt

    Let cool add to a bowl.

    Add 16 ounces of whipped cream

  10. 10

    Bake pie crust for 10-15 minutes

    Let the crust cool to the touch, and add strawberry mixture

  12. 12

    Top with 8 ounces cool whip / whipped cream

  13. 13

    Or leave with no toppings but a few strawberry slices

  14. 14

    Chill before serving I hope you enjoy!
