Edamame Cheese Hanpen Balls for Bento

Edamame Cheese Hanpen Balls for Bento
Easy and high in protein, these hanpen balls are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, packed with seasonal edamame. Great for meal prep or as a bento lunch main dish.

Steps

Boil the edamame, remove from pods, and place in a bowl. Cut the imitation crab sticks in half, shred by hand, and add to the bowl.

Without opening the package, mash the hanpen until there are no large lumps.

Add the mashed hanpen and the cheese, potato starch, and mayonnaise to the bowl. Mix everything together until well combined.

Shape the mixture into balls of your preferred size and coat the surface with potato starch.

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Add the balls and cook, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy on all sides.
