Rosemary Salt

As a passionate lover of flavored salts, I know the joy of sprinkling garlic, black peppercorn, or rosemary salt on just about anything. The catch? These specialty salts often come with a steep price tag. But what if I told you that you could create your own delectable rosemary salt at home for a fraction of the cost? That's right—by making it yourself, you can avoid the supermarket's pricey offerings and tailor it to your taste.

This recipe is a breeze! I use fine table salt for a powdery texture, but feel free to choose coarse salt for a more granular result. Since I grow my own rosemary, I start with drying it—an easy process you'll see in the recipe. Adjust the quantities of rosemary and salt to your preference; I love mine extra herby, so I use plenty of rosemary. Dive in and savor the satisfaction of homemade flavored salt!

Steps

5 minutes
  1. 1

Drying the rosemary: Rinse and gently pat the sprigs dry with paper towels. Hang the branch up in a well-ventilated area to dry. Mine took about a weeks for the needles to turn brittle and start to fall off

  2. 2

Separate the dry sprigs from the stems and store the leaves in an airtight container or continue to step 3 to make rosemary flavored salt
