Ingredients

  1. 10bell peppers
  2. 3 1/2 ozfish paste (about 100 grams)
  3. 5 1/3 ozground meat (about 150 grams)
  4. 3water chestnuts
  5. 1 teaspoonminced ginger
  6. 1 teaspoonwhite pepper
  7. 1 dashsesame oil
  8. 1 teaspoonmushroom-flavored vegetarian oyster sauce
  9. 1 teaspoonmushroom seasoning
  10. For the sauce:
  11. 1 tablespoonmushroom-flavored vegetarian oyster sauce
  12. 3/4 cupwater (about 200 grams)
  13. 1 teaspoonbrown sugar
  14. 1 dashred chili pepper
  15. 1 teaspoonminced garlic
  16. as neededCornstarch slurry,
  17. 1 dashsesame oil

Cooking Instructions

    Prepare all the necessary ingredients.

    In a large bowl, combine the fish paste, ground meat, white pepper, minced ginger, mushroom seasoning, mushroom-flavored vegetarian oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Mix slightly.

    Add the crushed water chestnuts and mix well.

    Remove the stems from the bell peppers and scoop out the seeds. Rinse them clean and set aside.

    Fill the hollowed bell peppers with the fish paste and ground meat mixture. Place them in a steamer over boiling water, cover, and steam for 10 minutes.

    While the bell peppers are steaming, prepare the sauce in a small saucepan. Combine all the sauce ingredients except the cornstarch slurry and sesame oil. Bring to a boil, then add the cornstarch slurry to thicken slightly. Stir in the sesame oil and drizzle over the steamed stuffed bell peppers.
