Cooking Instructions

Whisk together pudding and milk; set aside.

In mixing bowl, cream butter, powdered sugar and cream cheese until smooth.

Mix pudding into cream cheese mixture, fold in Cool Whip. NOTE: Fresh whipped cream can be used if serving same day. Whipped cream breaks down easily if served a day or two later.

Mix pecans and cookie sand together.
- 5
Place enough “sand” to cover bottom of pail, place a couple scoops of pudding over the sand. Sand, pudding, sand, pudding, ending in sand.

Refrigerate until ready to serve. Place candies just before serving.

NOTE: Recipe is doubled since my sand pail was a bit on the large side.

I love to bake sweet stuff, with a bit of savory tasty cooking thrown into the mix. Just good ol’ southern cuisine. Most of my recipes were handed down from my Great & Grand Grannies. If they didn’t grow it or raise it, it wasn’t eaten. My hubby and I have alot of food allergies so it gets challenging sometimes to make things that we both can eat. Neither of us can eat shellfish, which is sad, considering where we live, cuz it’s everywhere! Y’all won’t find any shellfish /saltwater fish recipes here. Some fresh water fishes, maybe. Hope y’all enjoy my recipes!

I was going to make my Oreo Mud Pie, but I didn't have everything. I also needed to make half my norm, which is one pie. My Oreo Mud Pie makes 2 pies. I looked around and found some good ingredients to vary with. And it could be varied much more, according to your taste. Anyway, this is a bare a#$, down to the nitty gritty, simple but awesome tasting dish. I did put some butterscotch syrup on top. I hope y'all enjoy it as much as we will.
