Raw Banana Kofta Dalna (Bengali style)

Cut the unripe banana and boil in a pressure cooker with salt, turmeric and water. Remove the peels and transfer the boiled bananas to a mixing bowl. Add boiled mashed potato, grated coconut, green chillies, ginger paste, spices, salt, sugar and maida. Mix everything until well combined and shape like Kofta.

Heat a kadai or pan, add oil and fry them until they are dark brown in colour. This should take about 4 to 5 minutes. Fry the boiled potato cubes for 2-3 minutes.

Heat mustard oil. Temper it with bay leaves, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and cumin seeds. Add grated coconut and fry it for about a minute. Now add the spices and tomato puree and saute it on medium heat.

Add hot water. This will from the curry. Once it comes to a boil add potato and koftas. Simmer on low heat until the curry thickens or little dry.

Lastly spread some ghee and bengali garam masala. Rest it covered for 2 minutes before serving.
