In a bowl, combine grated and squeezed lauki, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, and all dry spices.

Add besan gradually and mix until the mixture holds together. Rest for 10 minutes if needed.

Little oil your hands and shape the mixture into small round tikkas or flatten like patties. And coat patties with bread crumbs both side.

Option 1: Pan Fry – Heat a bit of oil in a non-stick pan. Shallow-fry the tikkas until golden brown on both sides.
Option 2: Grill or Bake – Brush with oil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
Option 3: Air-fry – Air-fry at 180°C for 12–15 minutes until crisp. I have fried tikkis.

Serve hot with mint chutney, ketchup, or garlic mayo.
