Wash rice and moong dal together thoroughly.

Add rice, dal, 1 tsp ghee, salt, and 3 cups water to a pressure cooker.

Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles until soft.

Heat 3 tbsp ghee in a wok, sauté cashews until golden.

Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, and ginger+ red chilli, turmeric and garam masala powder

Add cooked rice-dal mixture, stir to combine with tempering.

Serve hot and enjoy your pongal breakfast!
Tips
For a creamier texture, you can adjust the water quantity while cooking. Roasting the moong dal before cooking can enhance the flavor or add more ghee if required
