  • 1 cupLeftover khichdi
  • 1small, finely chopped Tomato
  • 1small, finely chopped Onion
  • 1 tablespoonGinger-garlic-chili paste
  • 2tablespoons, chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoonSalt
  • 1/4 teaspoonTurmeric powder
  • 1/4 cupGram flour (besan)
  • 1/4 cupRice flour or semolina (sooji)
  • 1/4 teaspoonBaking soda
  • 1 teaspoonLemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoonSugar
  • 2 tablespoons(for greasing and cooking) Oil

    Mix leftover khichdi, tomato, onion, ginger-garlic-chili paste, and coriander in a bowl. Now Add salt, turmeric, gram flour, rice flour or semolina, baking soda, lemon juice, and sugar.

    Mix well to form a thick batter. Add a little water if needed.

    Grease an appam pan with oil and heat it. Pour spoonfuls of batter into the pan. Drizzle a little oil on top.

    Cook on medium heat until golden on both sides. Serve in a plate with tea or chatni.
