Ingredients

30 minutes
Serves 6 servings
  • 4eggs
  • 3/4 cuplight brown sugar (about 150 grams)
  • 1/3 cupmilk (about 100 ml)
  • 1/3 cupoil (about 100 ml)
  • 1 1/3 cupschestnut flour (about 160 grams)
  • 1 packetbaking powder
  • 1 pinchsalt

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Separate the egg yolks from the whites.

  2. 2

    Whisk the yolks with the brown sugar until pale. Add the milk and oil, and mix well.

  3. 3

    Stir in the chestnut flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

  4. 4

    Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.

  5. 5

    Gently fold the egg whites into the batter in several additions.

  6. 6

    Pour the batter into a greased and floured round cake pan, and bake for 30 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
